Redknapp in fight with Taarabt

The Premier League side Queens Park Rangers continues enduring a dreadful start of the season not only because they are located at the very bottom of the English standings but a feud is also starting to occur within the club in itself as Harry Redknapp is involved in a war of words with the midfielder Adel Taarabt.

The head coach of QPR, has told Taarabt to prove if he is truly worth to be paid his wages which are in the region of $100,000 each week but the real problem occurred when Redknapp did not place the Moroccan midfielder in his squad which was facing Liverpool in a Premier League match and when Redknapp was asked about the condition of Taarabt as to why he didn’t play in the entire match for a single match, the manager replied by saying that Taarabt is overweight.

“No, he’s not fit: he’s not fit to play football, unfortunately,” said Redknapp. I can’t keep protecting people who don’t want to run about and train, who are around three stone (19kg) overweight. He played in a reserve team game the other day, and I could have run about more than he did. So no, I can’t pick him.

Adel Taarabt responded by saying that he isn’t overweight and is fully fit and he was ready to play against Liverpool but the coach never called him up. The Moroccan midfielder continued on by saying that Redknapp spends most of his time in his office and rarely does he actually go to a training session with the team and when he does, Redknapp only spends about 5 or 10 minutes watching the players train but does not actually contribute anything to the squad.

The battle of words continued on when Redknapp said that Adel Taarabt only managed to lose weight after the played had tonsillitis.

The chairman of Queens Park Rangers, Tony Fernandes has to step up in order to end this verbal dispute as he made a public apology to all the fans and everyone of the club but now Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt are expected to be fined for their actions.
