Charlie Austin superb Performance continues

QPR striker Charlie Austin continued his impressive goalscoring form after netting one of the goals in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.

Austin has been one of the impressive players in the Premier league over the last few weeks. It has helped QPR rise from the bottom of the table closer to safety. Austin is one of the few players who does not get a lot of mention since he has not been playing at the top level throughout his career. Midfielder Joey Barton has tried to give him some credit by saying that Austin has done well to warrant an inclusion in the England squad.

Gone are the days when only players playing for the top clubs used to feature for the England national team. The likes of Ricki Lambert have shown in recent years that playing for clubs other than the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United will also be considered. Barton says that Austin should be included in the squad just as Lambert was did a few years ago. England manager Roy Hodgson has tried to introduce some fresh players into the squad. Saido Berahino has been brought in after his impressive performances with West Brom sees him fourth in the Premier League goal scoring charts.

“If he keeps scoring goals that does all the talking for him.It sounds like I am going to slag Rickie Lambert off but I am not.I just think if you’re not playing for Liverpool, who can’t really hit a cow’s a*** with a banjo at the minute in terms of their frontline, and you can’t get a game for them, how do you get in the England squad? Chas is a natural goalscorer. Saido Berahino is of a similar ilk. He just scores goals. And that’s what the game is about,” said Barton.
