QPR beats Ipswich

Queens Park Rangers has celebrated the anniversary of the first match that they have played at Loftus Road with a 2-1 win over Ipswich.

Ipswich Town have managed to win four games out of their five opening games and were considered as the favorite for this one but unfortunately for them things did not go as planned. Since the start of play they were the second best team and it was Queens Park Rangers who deserved to win the game.

Queens Park Rangers started the match well and took control of the game and could have opened the scoring in the opening stage of the game but Conor Washington will see his long-range effort stopped by the Ipswich Town goalkeeper.
Washington will get another chance to open the score on a cross from Massimo Luongo but this time he will place his order wide of the post.

Just after this occasion, Freeman will have another chance to open the score for Queens Park Rangers but his shot will be kept out by the Ipswich Town goalkeeper.

After a period of dominance, Queens Park Rangers will open the scoring through Mackie just before half-time. This time the goalkeeper will not be able to do anything on a powerful strike.

Just after the break Queens Park Rangers will make it 2-0 with a sweet strike from 20 yards. Ipswich Town will fail to mount a serious comeback and it is only in the closing stage of the game that they could manage to score a goal to make it 2-1.

It was a little too late for them as Queens Park Rangers will defend well and control the game denying them opportunities to equalize. The Queens Park Rangers coach said that he is happy with the way his players have played and that they deserved to win this game.

HUDDERSFIELD WANT BARNSLEY DEFENDER YIADOM

Premier League new boys Huddersfield want Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom this summer.

Yiadom is a target for Queen Park Rangers (QPR) but The Terriers are keen on completing the deal for the player despite their first bid being thrown out.

Sky sources claim Huddersfield Town have made a second bid as they want to lure the player over other interested sides. The Terriersare keen on adding players this summer as they seek to impress in the top flight. They want the highly rated full back to join them in the league.

Yiadom joined Barnsley last term on a free transfer after his time at League Two side Barnet. He went on to make a strong impression in the international scene with his debut for Ghana at the 2017 African Cup of Nations. All these drove up interest in the player. He has a year left on his deal with Oakwell but he is rejecting any renewal as interests in him rise exponentially. He has featured for Hayes &Yeading and Braintree so he has the required experience as well.

If QPR want to get the player, they would have to deep dig as Huddersfield have the advantage. Barnsley want as much as £2 million for the player – a fee Huddersfield should easily meet.

QPR are reportedly battling to retain defender Steven Caulker amid Celtic interest. There are reports that the player and his reps have met with Brendan Rodgers over a possible deal this summer. The Scottish Premiership side want to boost their defensive ranks ahead of a challenging season to prove that they were no fluke last term.

ANDY JOHNSON BACKS AARON LENNON OVER HEALTH CONCERNS

A former Queen Park Rangers (QPR) and Fulham striker Andy Johnson has backed Everton star Aaron Lennon as he battles health issues.

Lennon is held by the police as there are concerns over his welfare, according to reports. Lennon was involved in an “incident” in Salford so he was hospitalized with the hope of assessing him.

“Police were called at around 4:35pm to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man on Eccles Old Road. Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act and was taken to hospital for assessment,” the Greater Manchester Police said about the incident.

The player was criticized for his situation, with a national newspaper focusing on the wages the former Three Lions player was earning. People blasted the paper report for their stance. Johnson joined in, calling for an end to the stigma. He added that he would donate money to Mind Charity in Aaron Lennon’s name and raise awareness about mental health.

In other news, with the Mental Health Awareness Week set for May 8 to May 17, an academy coach of QPR, Manisha Tailor is drawing attention to it. Tailor says that football can help people overcome issues with their mental health as it creates a safe space for them to engage others.

Football can boost those that struggle with mental health because it allows them to come into a safe environment, free of any judgement, and engage with other who they share similarities with,” she said Its Not Catenaccio.

She adds that there are social and physical benefits that football offers can be very helpful for everyone going through any phase of mental health issues.

QPR’s obstacles are bigger than what Ian Holloway initially thought

Ian Holloway made his return to the Championship League club Queens Park Rangers on November 11 of 2016 and the English manager has recently stated that taking over the club was harder than what he originally believed.

The first match that Queens Park Rangers played since Ian Holloway completed his return to the club was back on November 19 of 2016 when they faced off with Norwich City and claimed a 2-1 triumph but from there on out things have been fairly underwhelming for the club as they went on to sustain 6 successive defeats.

“It’s a bigger job than I thought. The fact we haven’t come back within 18 months of going behind and that wouldn’t have been nice to witness that for my predecessors. We need to believe that if we go behind it’s not the end of the game. It could be experience, character, that’s not a nice feeling. After 12 minutes I see that stat in the back of my mind. What’s it like for them? The Championship is about how many you can score. Look at the goal-scorers and who is at the top of the table.”

This was the statement released by Ian Holloway after his team had lost against Brighton & Hove Albion on December 27 of 2016. It was the 6th consecutive defeat from Queens Park Rangers.

QPR are currently located in the lower section of the English League Championship as they are positioned at the 17th spot but are comfortably above the relegation zone which is probably one of the more important things to take into consideration.

Nonetheless, this is still a fairly dark and disappointing period of time for a club that was competing in the Premier League back in the season of 2014-15 and is now struggling just to survive in the 2nd tier English League Championship.

QPR TO HOST VILLA

Queen Park Rangers would be hosting Aston Villa in the final game of 10 in 10 on Sunday at the Loftus Road Stadium.

QPR boss Ian Holloway will battle Steve Bruce in the game of tactics if he wants to end the team’s recent poor run. QPR have scored just three times in their past five matches, and they face a tough one when they play Villa.

On the other hand, Villa have turned around their fortunes since Bruce took over. Under former coach Roberto Di Matteo, Villa posted just one win in 11 matches before the former Chelsea boss was sacked.

Holloway would be desperate for victory, coupled with the home advantage but Villa remain a tough opponent. Jordan Cousins may not be available for the clash due to reported hamstring problems. Idrissa Sylla and Sebastian Polter are not yet fully recovered, Jack Robinson has problems with his hip, Steven Caulker with his hamstring and Jamie Mackie non-availability worsens the situation for Rangers.

Bruce does not have injury crisis to worry about except Nathan Baker who is sill sidelined with Groin injury. After the loss to Norwich, the team would be seriously motivated to get some points against QPR.

The game might not go down historically, considering that Villa have not defeated QPR for more then two decades now.

They have played a draw in three and lost four games in previous meetings. With the team on a high, that record is set to change. On the other hand, Holloway won only his first game on his return to the club against Norwich, but he has since supervised four losses. Moneybookers give Villa the edge in the Sky Bet Championship clash.

QPR backs manager

Queens Park Rangers have issued a statement that they will be offering their full backing to manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink following the allegations made by newspaper reporters that the manager was willing to accept money in exchange for selling players.

The Dutch manager has not denied the talks and said that he was naïve to deal with the reporters. He, however, stated that he did not engage in any wrongdoing and that he was just curious to know where the discussions will end up.

Ever since the Telegraph reveals the existence of the recordings, Queen Park Rangers have opened their own investigation and has sought the assistance of all the different stakeholders. The club, however, has stated that the Telegraph did not provide as much help as they would have wanted in order to investigate the issue.

It is believed that the investigation has been dropped off by Queens Park Rangers as there is a lack of evidence to show that Hasselbaink has been involved in any case of wrongdoings.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said that he regrets the situation and that he was just naïve to have been caught in the trap laid by the reporters. He said that his conscience is clean and that he knows that he has not been involved in any case of illegal or unethical activities.

The Queens Park Rangers board has stated that they will continue to provide their full support to the manager but that he has been reminded of his role and position at the club. The board said that as a manager, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink should know that his conduct will be monitored closely and that it is important that he remains free from any doubts at all times.

The board still believe in the manager and has wished him success for the remaining part of the season.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reckons he can’t be using the formation

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reckons he can’t be using the formation he had used the previous season if he has to make a change in the forward position and pick Conor Washington instead of Polter.

Polter was the starting forward for QPR in the winters and Washington was just the back up for him. But, after shining in Euro, the latter has his nose ahead for the position and he might now be able to pip his German colleague who has not become a senior international player anymore.

According to Hasselbaink, while both Washington and Polter are attackers, they are not similar. So, if one has to replace the other, the formation has to change to make sure the team is comfortable operating as a whole.

Hailing Washington, Hasselbaink said, “Definitely a wonderful Euro for him which hopefully gets him confident. We have been speaking to the lad and he is really pleased about the France trip. A 20-day holiday has been granted to him as we felt he must get that much of time to charge his body and mind to the fullest again.

“I expect to see him fresh when he joins in. There definitely has to be a discussion in regards to the formation if we go with Conor because he and Sebastian are not totally alike the way they play.”

On asked about Jordan Cousins, the latest recruit, the Dutchman said, “In the first week itself, I had talked in detail what qualities I would be looking for in the Footballers when I make a signing and he certainly has most of those qualities. His best is ahead of him.”

“Jordan would be the midfielder for us for sure because midfield is his specialised region, not the flanks.”

QPR MIDFIELDER ALEJANDRO FAURLIN LEAVES THE CLUB

QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin announces his plans of leaving the Championship side as the season ends.

The player wrote on a popular social media app, Instagram. He announced via a post that his long spell with the Championship side is at an end.

The 29-year-old Argentinian midfielder arrived at the club in 2009 and has enjoyed lots of firm support from Loftus Road fans and is easily one of the favourites. Faurlin was an integral member of the 2011 Championship-winning side, but has suffered terrible luck since, suffering three anterior cruciate ligament injuries. However, he was fit again this season and has made 30 appearances in the QPR midfield, but his contract has now expired and it seems he is not going to be offered a new deal.

Faurlin posted:

“After seven seasons, a long journey with some tough, difficult spells, but with some of the best and more precious moments in my career, I write to say goodbye.
“I won’t comment on the decision. I just want to thank everyone at QPR.”
“Thanks to every single person who works behind the scenes, you have all been so important to me and to us the players.
“And massive thanks to the fans, for your support and your loyalty, especially in the bad moments. I will be eternally grateful for that.

“I am really happy and pleased to have been fit and available for selection all season.

“I want more, I am healthy and I want to play football more than ever!”

The player joins the list of players that would exit the club at the season’s end. Other include former England goalkeeper Rob Green, defender Clint Hill and midfielder Alejandro Faurlin. Samba Diakite, Oscar Gobern, Armand Traore and Yun Suk-young will also leave Loftus Road when their contracts expire at the end of next month.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbainksays what kind of players he wants to sign

Queens Park Rangers was competing in the Premier League during the 2014-15 season but after a disastrous campaign, they were relegated and are now fighting in the 2nd tier English League Championship.

QPR is attempting to make a return to the Premier League but at this point in time it’s just not going to happen.

The 2015-16 season is reaching it’s last few weeks and QPR are positioned in the middle section of the English League Championship standings and they are too far away from having any chance of snatching a play-off spot that can allow them to return to the Premier League.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is the head coach of QPR and he has recently talked about what he is planning to do in relation to transfers for the upcoming summer transfer window.

“With two more games this season, if you’re not already starting to plan for next year then you will have a big problem. You need to plan in advance. It is clear the direction we need. We have to have younger players, more assets in the club. We have to look at more players who are 23, 24 or 25. I’m not saying we shouldn’t sign a 30-year-old, but in the past few years too many players have come here to retire.” Jimmy Floyd Hassebaink said as he stated what kind of players he wants to sign.

The average age in the squad of Jimmy Floyd Basselbaink is 25 which is a fairly young team and from the looks of it, the 44 year old Dutch coach wants to keep it that way or turn it even into a younger squad with more explosive and youthful player in his team.

Even though getting promoted to the Premier League is not going to happen in this season for Queens Park Rangers, the manager already seems to know what to do for the upcoming campaign and hopefully make a return to the top tier English League.

PetrCech is certain that Arsenal can win the Premier League title in this season

The high profile summer signing of Arsenal, PetrCech is confident that his new club are able to take away the league title from the current champions Chelsea and win the Premier League of this recently started season.

The Czech shot-stopper has faith that his new team can make it happen as he told the media: “We didn’t have the start we would like but I still believe we have a bunch of players who are hungry to win trophies. After the first three games we have four points but I think there are many positives which we can look forward to in the next games.”
Arsenal has collected 7 points from the possible 12 out of the 4 opening matches of the season, this isn’t a disaster start of a season but it could be improved.

It has been less than 5 months since PetrCech joined Arsenal but he has already gone through a roller coaster ride. During the opening match of the season, Arsenal locked horns with West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium and this was the first Premier League match that PetrCech played as a performer of Arsenal.

This debut performance of PetrCech was a complete disaster as Arsenal lost 0-2 and both of the conceded goals was blamed on the Czech shot-stopper. It was match to forget for the veteran player as he made a number of mistakes which cost Arsenal their first loss of the season.

Despite having made an awful debut for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger was certain that PetrCech would be able to bounce back and the Czech player has indeed managed to make solid performances. He was one of the standout players of Arsenal when facing off with Liverpool on August 24. PetrCech made 2 breathtaking saves which helped Arsenal in keeping a clean sheet and securing 1 point from this game.
