Cardiff Continues Their Unbeaten Run by Demolishing QPR

Queens Park Rangers dominated the possession and even hit the woodwork twice as well, but it was Cardiff who had the last laugh as they win the match 3–0.

QPR continued to have nearly 70% of possession and played well but could not get the real job done. The visitor played well and they had their early chance with Bright Osayi-Samuel as he got cleared from defense and took a powerful shot, but Alex Smithies was able to make the save at his near post. Then in the 20th-minute visitors came close again as a superb ball from Ryan Manning was met by former Swansea defender Angel Rangel and who almost scored.

QPR’s Freeman to be Signed by Sheffield United

Sheffield United is gearing up for the transfer window in the next twenty-four hours. In this transfer window, Luke Freeman is all set to become a part of Bramall Lane coming over from Queens Park Rangers. The deal will initially be for £3 million as per the reports. Irrespective of being linked with a large number of players as they ascertained their return in the Premier League, the Blades were forced to wait on patiently with Chris Wilder looking to improve his team that defied expectations by ending up in the second position in the last season’s Champions League.

However, it is only a matter of time that the arrival of Freeman gets confirmed. Reports have suggested that Queens Park Rangers star Player of the Year is going to move to Steel City for £3 million in the next twenty-four hours. Even though the fans of Sheffield United are going to breathe a sigh of relief, the fans of Leeds United will not welcome the deal with enthusiasm close to this. Previously, Leeds was known to have been linked with Freeman for numerous times for many months and according to a report on Monday, they are still interested in luring the former Arsenal player to Elland Road.

McClaren accepts the risky move didn’t work

Steve McClaren accepted that it was probably because of the move he made of replacing a playmaker with a forward when the Rangers were trailing by one goal that Hull was able to score another one and stretch their advantage to two goals and virtually ended the possibility of a Rangers’ victory.

The Rangers were taking on Hull at home and were desperate for a victory which didn’t seem to be visible anywhere in the distance when the scoreline was 2-1 in favor of Hull. An equalizer was the need of the hour and McClaren wanted to push for it. So he decided to change the formation and put in an extra player in the offensive line so that they could build pressure on the opposition defense, but as it turned out, they were caught on the counter attack and since they had one player less in the midfield, Hull were able to pierce through, resulting in another goal and the scoreline reaching 3-1 rather than 2-2. The margin eventually got reduced in the injury time with Freeman netting a second one for the hosts, but it was not enough to earn them any points.

QPR to sign defender

It is reported that Queens Park Rangers is interested to sign Preston player Paul Huntington. The latter has one year remaining on his contract and is believed to be available for a price of £1m only. This will be a bargain concerning the talent and the experience that the defender possesses.

Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McLaren is keen to strengthen his team in order to mount a promotion push next season. This season they have been quite average defensively and will need some serious improvement if they want to climb up the table.
Steve McLaren said that there are some quality players in the squad and that they will need some quality additions in order to become stronger. He said that Paul Huntington is the kind of player that he is looking for and that he is sure that he will bring some much-needed steel at the back.
The manager said that there is plenty of work to be done and he wants to get his new players as early as possible so that he can start pre-season work.
However, it will all depend on how much Preston will be looking for the player. Queens Park Rangers do not have a big budget and may find it difficult to sign Huntington if Preston looks for a much higher fee.
Steve McLaren said that he is looking for at least 3 players in order to strengthen the team and he will be paying attention to players that are at the end of their contract. He said that he is aware that Queens Park Rangers is facing financial problems and that they do not have a big budget available.
He believes that there are some players available out there that can strengthen the team and this is what he will be looking to do.
