CARROLL DECISION

QPR manager Harry Redknapp has called for Tottenham to make a quick decision on the future of midfielder Tom Carroll.

The youngster is on loan at QPR from Tottenham, but there has been speculation that he may be recalled in the middle of his loan spell in order to help his parent club tide over the injury crisis. Newly appointed manager Tim Sherwood has had to deal with injuries to the likes of Paulinho, Sandro, and Sigurdsson. As a result, the club has the option of recalling Carroll in order to sustain their quest for the top four.

Carroll has been outstanding for QPR this campaign, as he has made 14 appearances in an impressive season for the club. QPR were expected to struggle after relegation with big-name players last season, but they have managed to maintain a push for the automatic promotion spots from the start. Even though they have fallen five points behind Leicester City, they have comfortable advantage over the rest of the chasing pack that includes clubs like Burnley and Derby County.

Due to the presence of an experienced manager like Harry Redknapp, they are the favourites to get promoted along with Leicester. A recall may affect the Championship team, but Redknapp wants the future to be sorted as soon as possible.

“I’m not sure what’s happening. It’s up to Tim Sherwood what he wants to do. He likes him an awful lot and has been excellent for us. I haven’t spoken to Tim for a week or so, but if he wants to take him back I need to know because we need time to try and find somebody else. I wouldn’t want to leave it until the last minute [of the window]. It’s a difficult time of year to find players,” said Harry Redknapp.
